Competition venues are a highlight of the World Firefighters Games Sydney 2012.
Firefighters will have the opportunity to compete at the world-class sporting venues that created memorable sporting moments during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games as well as some of Sydney’s most famous harbour and surf beach locations.
SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK
Sydney Olympic Park is the iconic home of the 2000 Olympics Games in Sydney. WFG2012 are delighted to be utilising these world-class facilities for the Games. Events at Sydney Olympic Park include World's Toughest Firefighter Alive event, Swimming in the Aquatic Centre, Track and Field at the Athletic Centre, Archery at the Archery Centre and Tennis at the Tennis Centre.
PYRMONT FORESHORE
Picturesque Pyrmont Foreshore will be the venue of the Games Village and host several events such as Darts, Horeseshoes, Dodgeball, Arm Wrestling, Poker, Tug of War, Indoor Rowing, Roller Cycling, Bucket Brigade and Body Building.
RANDWICK COUNCIL BEACHES & SPORTING FIELDS
Sydney’s Randwick Council area will host many of the outdoor sports at the World Firefighters Games 2012. In true Australian style, participants will experience some of our most famous and beautiful beaches, including Maroubra and Coogee for a variety of events such as Surfing, Surf Lifesaving, Beach Volleyball, Beach Cricket and the Open Water Swim, as well as our world class football fields that will host the Soccer.
